Workshop Nanomedicine
ESEI-BioMed project is organizing a workshop on “Advancing diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in cancer by means of nanomedicine” on November 5-6, 2024 in Iasi, at: “Mihai Eminescu” Lecture Hall, Corp A, parter, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi
Dear colleagues,
We are honored to invite you to our workshop titled "Advancing Diagnostic and Therapeutic Strategies in Cancer by Means of Nanomedicine." Since integrating nanoscience and nanotechnology into medical research, significant advancements have been achieved, overcoming the limitations of traditional cancer diagnostics and therapies. Some of efforts from academia and industry have translated into feasible clinical solutions already. However, creating ideal nanomaterials that the immune system recognizes as “self” remains challenging. Despite this, progress is encouraging, paving the way for early detection and treatment of cancer.
This event will discuss the latest advancements in nanocarriers for medical applications, focusing on fundamental technology, targeted drug delivery, and early detection methods. We will explore how nanotechnology enhances in vitro diagnostics and examine the 4S properties (size, shape, surface, and stiffness) crucial for translation into practice. Key topics also include understanding nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery mechanisms and hyperthermia using nanoparticles.
We will address whether nanomedicine suits all cancers through case studies on specific cancer types (e.g., breast, brain), highlighting its versatility and challenges. The workshop will also cover nanomedicine-based cancer immunotherapy and clinical applications for precise cancer diagnosis and therapy. Last but not least, ethical principles related to innovations in cancer nanomedicine will be addressed.
Join us to explore these cutting-edge topics and shape the future of cancer treatment.
Besides the scientific aspects of the Workshop, our guests will have every chance to enjoy the hospitality and the beauties of our historic town, Iasi.
See you in Iasi!
