"Smart Health Technologies in medical diagnostics and treatment " Forum
February 07-09, 2023, Dr. Brîndușa Drăgoi - Coordinator of the project ESEI-BioMed (“Enhancing and Strengthening the Excellence in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research at TRANSCEND, GA No. 952390), Prof. Dr. Eugen Carasevici (Medical scientific manager of the ESEI-BioMed project and the founder of the TRANSCEND Research center), and Dr. Maria Spiridon (Assistant Manager of the ESEIBioMed project) attended the Forum "Smart Health Technologies in medical diagnostics and treatment ", organized by the Cluster Imago-Mol with the support of North-East Regional Development Agency Rubik Hub, "Grigore T. Popa" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and Philips. The event took place at Iasi, Romania.
The event gathered together academics, scientists, policy makers, Ministries representatives, specialists in technology transfer and entrepreneurs in healthcare from Romania and other European countries, e.g. Greece, Italy, Spain, Belgium.
During the event, Dr. Brîndușa Drăgoi delivered the invited talk titled: Nanomedicine, a viable, but challenging solution for oncology. It was an opportunity to promote the project, the Naotechnology Lab both as technical facilities and scientific topics under development, as well as the TRANSCEND research Center among the national and international stakeholders in healthcare systems, from scientists to policymakers. The merits and the pitfalls of nanomedicine for oncologic applications were also underlined during her presentation aiming at increasing awareness on the challenges on the pathway of the nanodrgus from the lab to the clinic.
The event was a great opportunity for the people working on various topics of the large area of nanomedicine, medicine and artificial intelligence (AI in cancer detection, diagnosis and treatment) from different European Countries (Spain, Italy, Belgium, Greece, Romania, etc) to present their research interests and achievements as premise for future collaborations.
The goal of the event was to facilitate consortia development dedicated to smart health technologies in medical diagnostic & treatment and to apply for EU funding programs, such as Horizon Europe, EU4Health, Digital Europe or Interregional Innovation Instrument.
